Product feed management that keeps every channel current

Alli Product Feed Management is product feed management built into the Alli operating system. It brings product data together from every source, cleanses and optimizes it, and deploys channel-ready feeds to Google, Microsoft, Meta, OpenAI, Pinterest, Snapchat, and TikTok on a schedule.

Before Product Feed Management

Your ads are only as good as the feed behind them

Dynamic ads, shopping listings, and catalog campaigns are built from a product feed. When that feed is late, messy, or rebuilt by hand for each channel, good products go unadvertised and sold-out products keep spending.

Built by hand for every channel.

Each channel gets its own export and its own spreadsheet edits, so one change has to be made several times.

Cleaned once, broken again.

A title or category edit made in the file disappears with the next export, and the same issue comes back.

Running behind the shelf.

The feed is only as current as the last person who touched it, so prices and availability in ads drift from what’s in stock.

What Product Feed Management does

From raw product data to channel-ready feeds

Connect the sources, set the rules once, and let every feed import, cleanse, optimize, and deploy on its own schedule.

Data sources

Bring every source into one feed.

Pull product data from files on FTP, SFTP, or S3, from a SQL table or view, from another feed, or from data already in Alli. Supplemental sources join the primary source on a product ID, in the order you set.

For your teamCatalog, inventory, pricing, and reviews from different systems become one feed.

Explore Datasources
Cleanse and optimize

Improve every product with shared rules.

Filters improve titles and descriptions, structure and map product categories for each channel, label priority products, and hold back items that shouldn’t run, such as anything out of stock. Generative Workflows adds AI enrichment and expansion inside the same feed.

For your teamA change made once applies to every item in every feed that uses the rule.

Scheduled runs

Keep every feed current on a schedule.

Schedules choose which sources import, when they run, and whether filtering and deployment follow. Import and filter every hour and deploy once a day, or run any step on demand.

For your teamFeeds stay current overnight and through peak periods without anyone starting a run.

What changes

What changes when product feeds manage themselves

Spend on products you can sell.

Out-of-stock and low-priority items are held back on every run, so budget goes to products that are available.

Listings that meet each channel’s standards.

Optimized titles, descriptions, and categories give every channel complete, well-structured items.

Prices that match the shelf.

Scheduled imports and deployments keep price and availability in ads in step with inventory.

One feed instead of many files.

Every channel deploys from the same cleansed feed, so a change reaches all of them at once.

Who uses it

Retail and ecommerce teams

Keep the catalog and the ads in step.

Price, availability, and promotions in ads follow what’s in stock, across every channel.

Media and activation teams

Run dynamic programs on clean feeds.

Shopping, catalog, and dynamic campaigns run on feeds that are current and focused on the products that matter.

Structured data and feed teams

Build the rules once.

Sources, mappings, filters, and deployments live in one place, and a rule built for one feed works on all of them.

Marketing leaders

Deployments and feed status

One product feed, deployed to every channel

Each channel gets the products and fields it needs from the same cleansed feed, and every send is recorded.

Deployments

Send one feed to every channel.

Each deployment sets what a channel receives: which items go out, the minimum item count to send, the file type, the field mapping, and any output filters. Google Merchant Center, Meta catalogs, hosted files, and cloud storage all run from the same feed.

For your teamA new channel gets its own deployment from the feed you already have.

Feed status

See what ran, what was sent, and what failed.

Each feed has a status view for imports, filters, and deployments, with processing times, item counts, and the destination of every send. Alli Alerts can flag a dropped item count or a failed send before it reaches a campaign.

For your teamAnyone on the team can confirm the feed went out, PMG and client alike.

How it works

How does Alli Product Feed Management work?

Every feed runs the same four stages: ingest, cleanse and optimize, filter, and deploy.

  1. Set up the feed

Start from a channel requirements template, or copy a feed you’ve already built.

  2. Connect the data

Add the primary source and any supplemental sources, then map their fields to the feed.

  3. Add the rules

Apply the filters and enrichment steps the feed needs, in the order they should run.

  4. Schedule the runs

Choose which sources import, when, and whether filtering and deployment follow.

  5. Deploy and check

Send the feed to each channel, then confirm every send in the status view.

The alternatives

Why spreadsheets and standalone feed tools fall short

Spreadsheets and standalone feed tools can both produce a file. Neither runs on the same data as the rest of your marketing.

  • Built and maintained by specialists.

PMG’s structured data team sets up sources, mappings, filters, and deployments, applies channel best practices, and keeps feeds current as requirements change.

  • Generative Workflows built in.

AI steps for enrichment and expansion run inside the feed, such as adding missing attributes or writing fuller titles and descriptions.

  • Monitored by Alli Alerts.

Alerts watch item counts and deployment results, so a feed problem surfaces before a campaign feels it.

Product Feed Management questions, answered.

How product feeds get built, cleansed, scheduled, and deployed.

  1. What is Alli Product Feed Management?

Alli Product Feed Management is product feed management built into the Alli operating system. It brings product data together from files, databases, and other feeds, cleanses and optimizes it with shared rules and AI enrichment, and deploys channel-ready feeds on a schedule. PMG’s structured data team builds and maintains the feeds as a managed service, and clients see everything in Alli.

  2. Which channels can a product feed deploy to?

Product Feed Management deploys to the major ad and commerce channels, including Google, Microsoft, Meta, OpenAI, Pinterest, Snapchat, and TikTok. Google Merchant Center and Meta catalogs are covered, along with Alli-hosted files, cloud storage, and file delivery to any connection. One feed can serve every channel, each with its own products, fields, and rules.

  3. How do filters cleanse and optimize a product feed?

Each filter checks a condition on an item, such as availability equal to out of stock or a category that contains a word, then applies an action: replace or remove text, update a field, add a custom label, or hold the item back. Filters run in the order you set, can be tested on a real item first, and are shared across every feed.

  4. How does Generative Workflows work with product feeds?

Generative Workflows is built into Product Feed Management, so AI steps run as part of the feed. They can enrich products with missing attributes, expand short titles and descriptions, and prepare data for channel requirements, then hand the result to the feed’s filters and deployments. The same governance and run history apply to every step.

  5. How often do product feeds update?

As often as the schedule says. A schedule names the sources it imports, the days and times it runs, and whether filtering and deployment follow. A common setup imports and filters every hour and deploys the full feed once a day. Any step can also run on demand, for example right after a price change.

  6. How do we know a feed was sent?

Every feed has a status view with tabs for imports, filters, and deployments, showing processing times, item counts, start and end times, and the destination of each send. Failed sends show their error. Alli Alerts can also flag a dropped item count or a failed deployment, so the team hears about it early.

  7. Where should a team start with product feed management?

Start with one catalog that has an obvious problem, such as sold-out products still running in dynamic ads. Build the feed from its main source, add a rule that holds back out-of-stock items, and deploy to one channel. Then add optimization rules, AI enrichment, and more channels, and copy the feed for the next catalog.
